How to share your screen and how to resolve issues when using screen sharing

Screen sharing is a helpful tool to show your tutor/learner something from your computer in real-time. Here are the steps for sharing your screen in our Online Lesson Space:

1) Click on the button "Share Screen"

2) A popup will open asking you what you would like to share. It will say "Choose what to share" and will display the options Entire Screen, Window, Chrome Tab. Choose what you would like to share and click the button "Share".

3) In your browser, the shared content appears in the small thumbnail image. For other participants (your student/tutor), the shared screen replaces your video in their large video pane. If you leave the Online Lesson Space while screen sharing, you will still see your student/tutor in a small floating thumbnail.

4) To stop screen sharing, click the "Stop" button.

If you are encountering any difficulties sharing your screen: To avoid the need to use screen sharing - we provide easy management of materials on our platform. You can upload the document you would like to show using screen sharing (or ask your student/tutor to upload it) as a lesson material to the lesson and this way, you will both have easy and direct access to it during the lesson (like with all other lesson materials). You can also directly share any file by uploading (or drag and dropping it) into the chat in the Online Lesson Space or Messages page - all files can be shared this way or as lesson materials - there is no size limitation.
