As soon as the lesson is confirmed, the learner receives the Written Level Test in their profile on their Lessons page. The Learner is asked to complete the Written Level Test before the lesson. Once the Learner submits the Written Level Test, the tutor is alerted via email so that they can review and score the test. This step helps the Tutor to have a better understanding of the Learner’s level before the lesson.
The Oral Level Test takes place during the lesson. It takes about 40 minutes if all questions are asked and answered. Before beginning the Oral Test, the tutor should explain to the learner that he or she should answer all questions with complete sentences and give an explanation and example so that the learner fully understands what a complete sentence is. The tutor should also explain that some questions may seem very easy and others very difficult and that the learner should not feel obligated to try to answer any questions that they find too challenging. Tutors should not insist on any questions beyond the learner’s level as this may make them feel frustrated or discouraged.
The Oral Level Test questions are randomly selected for each learner to ensure that each test is unique.
The Level Testing automatically occurs every 7 lessons to assess the learner’s progress and it can also be added to any lesson at any time by the learner or tutor.
